Blendtec
Blendtec is a company that sells professional and home blenders and was founded by Tom Dickson. As an advertising campaign started in late 2006, he decided to make a YouTube series titled "Will it Blend?" in which he takes various objects and tries to blend them. Some of the objects he has blended include iPhones, lighters, golf balls, and silly putty. According to a page in the Blendtec official blog, the series started off as more of just a silly idea than an actual marketing campaign. Blendtec's marketing manager wanted a video of the blenders blending lots of miscellaneous objects to test the durability of the blenders, and he wanted Tom Dickson in the videos to make them funny. When they posted them on YouTube, they didn't expect the response they received, and they turned the concept into a series (Goodman).

Since the creation of the first "Will it Blend?" video in late 2006, the Blendtec YouTube page has acquired over 500,000 subscribers, and the channel with all videos combined has over 150 million video viewings. In an interview with Tom Dickson, he stated "Will it Blend has had an amazing impact to our commercial and retail products." YouTube allowed Blendtec to advertise their product in a clever and completely free way.
